The Service Delivery and Organisation (SDO) Network lunchtime webinar series aims to get managers closer to research evidence and to discuss its implications for the NHS.
This webinar, held in partnership with the Ambulance Service Network (ASN) will feature new research on the workforce and organisational implications of technology adoption in urgent and emergency care.
The webinar will consider the right practices, roles, and other contextual factors for the effective adoption and use of technological interventions i.e. the CDSS (Computer Decision Support System, NHS Pathways) with a focus on the workforce implications in one of the three healthcare settings; emergency (999) care setting.
Professor Catherine Pope, Reader in Health Services Research, University of Southampton, will set out the broad research findings based on her NIHR-SDO funded study. This looked at the introduction of CDSS (NHS Pathways) across three healthcare settings and the workforce implications both at a policy and practical level.
Paul Fell, Head of Clinical Care and Patient Safety, Clinical Care and Patient Safety Directorate, North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust will look at the implications at a workforce level for the ambulance service when NHS Pathways was introduced into their emergency (999) care setting, and the practical lessons which other care settings including other ambulance services can take on board when implementing any type of CDSS model.
The webinar will be chaired by Jo Webber, Director of the Ambulance Service Network.
