The purpose of our research and development activities was to strengthen the capabilities of the CfWI. We have done this through developing, standardising and integrating our methodological approaches across all CfWI projects. This also served to enhance the credibility of our work. The R&D team continually reviewed the performance of the existing robust workforce planning framework, and applied expert innovation and industry-wide best practice.
The principal objectives of the R&D workstream were to:
- learn from and share best practices in workforce modelling and analysis, both within the CfWI and across the wider health workforce modelling community
- refine and improve the CfWI workforce planning framework.
