One to one cancer support report
The Centre for Workforce Intelligence has provided advice on workforce issues and risks that should be considered when looking to implement one to one cancer support.
The Centre for Workforce Intelligence has been commissioned by the Department of Health (DH) to review the general workforce issues and considerations relating to an economic analysis undertaken for the department by Frontier Economics Ltd, on the impact of introducing one-to-one support for all cancer patients.
This report has been produced by the CfWI primarily for use by DH, when considering policy development relating to the workforce delivering this specialist area of care.
The Department of Health also commissioned Frontier Economics to provide an independent analysis of the cost effectiveness of one to one support roles provided by CNS and other staff for cancer patients.
The report shows that in many scenarios, the costs of additional one to one support roles are likely to be outweighed by the potential savings that can be achieved through improved coordination of care.
