Clinical neurophysiology - MAC inclusion report September 2009

The service has shown evidence of positive adaptation to meet increasing demand for consultants in clinical neurophysiology, mainly through multi-professional working. As responsibility for conducting some tests is moved from trained medics to scientists, demand for medical posts (that are not training posts) decreases although at this stage the shift is understandably difficult to quantify. In spite of these efforts, evidenced room for growth remains within the profession. WRT proposes that the use of overseas recruitment is a sensible mechanism for alleviating workforce shortages.
