Occupatonal medicine MAC report March 2009

In an effort to grow the occupational medicine workforce, the specialty has encouraged trainees who have been unsuccessful in gaining posts in other areas to consider occupational medicine as an alternative. However, this may result in trainees who are uncommitted to the specialty. In spite of these efforts there still remains evidenced room for growth within the profession, and WRT proposes that the use of overseas recruitment is a sensible mechanism for alleviating workforce shortages.
