National Nursing Research Unit, Florence Nightingale School of Nursing & Midwifery at King’s College London

The National Nursing Research Unit (NNRU), based at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing & Midwifery at King’s College London, was established in 1977.

The aim of NNRU is to produce world class health services research that is of relevance to policymakers and healthcare leaders and which contributes to improving the quality and effectiveness of nursing in its social, political, local, national and global contexts.

The NNRU programme of primary research seeks to address major questions for nursing as part of contemporary health systems. NNRU develop researchers of the future and build capacity for the research community and the NHS through our PhD and post doctoral studentships. The unit also prepares a regular series of briefings on topical policy issues (Policy+) which are widely disseminated.
