Department of Health announces reform of social care

The biggest reform of the social care sector in 64 years was today announced by the Department of Health.

In three key reports, the Care and Support White Paper, the draft Care and Support Bill and a progress report on social care funding, the Government outlines its vision for a reformed care and support system.

CfWI Head of Social Care Dr Rhidian Hughes said:

The workforce is critical to realising the ambitions contained in the White Paper. We welcome the Government’s commitment to increasing the capability and capacity of the social care workforce.
The CfWI will focus its attention on the White Paper priority workforce groups, including personal assistants, apprentices and managers.

The three reports can be downloaded from the Department of Health links below.
